Simon N Hsu

Chairman

Mr Hsu is the Chairman of SNH Global Holdings Limited (“SNH”). SNH (www.SNHglobal.com) is a diversified holding company with 6 principle operating divisions employing over 2,000 people globally.

A well known entrepreneur and accomplished investor with over 30 years of experience as a corporate executive in Asia, Europe and North America, Mr Hsu also sits on the board of various investment and operating companies around the world.

Henry W Lim

Chief Executive Officer

Mr. Lim is currently Group CEO of SNH Global Holdings Ltd., the ultimate parent of Spear & Jackson Group, in Hong Kong. He was previously an Executive Director and Group CEO of United Pacific Industries Ltd., a public company based in Hong Kong. Prior to that, he was a director and Chief Financial Officer of Morrison Express Corporation, a global company based in Taiwan from February 2000 to May 2009.

He is a Certified Public Accountant and is a fellow of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Singapore, a fellow of CPA Australia as well as a fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants. He holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Honours) degree in Accounting (Silver Medal winner) from the Nanyang University of Singapore and has over 30 years experience in professional audit, financial/accounting and international management. He has held senior financial management positions with various companies, including 15 years with Fritz Companies Inc., a former NASDAQ-listed company, where he rose through the ranks to become Director of Finance for International Operations.

Steve White

Engineering Technology Group – Managing Director

Mr White was appointed Managing Director of the Spear & Jackson Engineering Technology Group in March 2013. Previously he held the position of Bowers Group Managing Director since April 2002. He has overall responsibility for the Measurement and Magnetics businesses within the Spear & Jackson Group, which include facilities in the UK, Canada and PRC.

Mr White commenced employment with the main UK distributor of the Bowers Group in 1986. This business was acquired by Bowers in 1994 and he was appointed a director at that time. He has subsequently held various technical, sales and marketing roles within the business.
Mr White has extensive experience in dealing with international markets in Europe, North America and the Asia-Pacific region.

Sandy Boyd

Tools Group – Managing Director

Mr Boyd was appointed Managing Director of Spear & Jackson’s Australian and New Zealand business units on the 3rd November 2003 and is a qualified member of the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators (1981).

In April 2013 Sandy was appointed Managing Director of the Spear and Jackson Tool Group extending his responsibilities for the United Kingdom, France, Export and Australian and New Zealand business units

Sandy has over 35 years business experience in both National and Multinational companies having held senior positions in Finance, Sales, Marketing, Manufacturing, Warehousing and Logistics .

Geoff Jackson

Bowers Group – Managing Director

Mr Jackson began his career as a Mechanical and Production Engineering Apprentice for Glacier Metal Company before joining TESA Metrology in 1987 as Sales Engineer. As he developed his career in the Measurement industry, Mr Jackson joined Baty International in 1997 as European Sales Manager, working his way up to Managing Director and ultimately owner.

In 2010, Baty International was acquired by the Bowers Group with Mr Jackson retained as Managing Director.

Ian Archer

Spear & Jackson UK – Managing Director

Mr Archer has been Managing Director of Spear & Jackson UK Ltd since October 2012. He worked in the Civil Service and the financial services industry before joining Spear & Jackson UK Ltd in 1991, and subsequently has occupied a number of roles within the sales and marketing function. After a brief one year absence he re-joined the company in October 2002 and became Export Director in January 2004. From October 2008 to September 2012 he was the Sales & Marketing Director for both home and export markets and appointed Managing Director in October 2012.

He holds an MBA from the Open University and is a chartered manager and fellow of the Chartered Management Institute.

Phil Proctor

Robert Sorby – Managing Director

Mr Proctor has now worked with Robert Sorby for over thirty years. He started out as a machine operative but worked his way up through the company and was appointed Production Director in 2007. For many of his thirty years he has been responsible for all aspects of manufacturing, including the design of new products. In April 2011, Mr Proctor took over control of the company as Managing Director.

It is Mr Proctor’s belief that every member of Robert Sorby is as important as each other, in order to maintain its position as the leading manufacturer of woodworking tools.

John Dargavel

Eclipse Magnetics – Managing Director

Mr Dargavel started his career as a Mechanical and Production Engineering Apprentice manufacturing Coal cutting and Deep Hole Drilling equipment for the Mining sector. Developing experience in roles ranging from Production Engineer to Project Engineer he migrated to Australia in 1988 where he held senior technical positions in the Fastener and Industrial Weighing sectors before embarking on a Management and Commercial career track.

On returning to the UK in 1994 Mr Dargavel entered the Magnetics industry with Eclipse. Following a progression of various Technical Sales positions John became Sales and Marketing Director in 2000 before becoming Managing Director in April 2013.

Mr Dargavel has responsibility for the UK operations and oversight of the China sales office based in Shanghai. He is also a board member of the Chinese Joint Venture manufacturing operation.

Gilles Champain

Spear & Jackson France – Managing Director

Mr Champain has worked for the Spear & Jackson Group since 1984. From 1992 to 1999 he was the Sales and Marketing Director of the S&J French subsidiary and was appointed Managing Director in 2000.

Mr Champain is a self-taught business man who likes the day-to-day challenges. The management of his team and driving them to success is his ultimate satisfaction.

Alaina Shone

Spear & Jackson Group Finance Director

Ms Shone, Spear and Jackson Group Finance Director, has 30 years’ experience in accounting, auditing, taxation and financial management.

Qualifying as a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales in 1988, Ms Shone initially worked in public practice with KPMG until joining the Spear & Jackson Group in 1990.

During her employment with the Group Ms Shone has held a number of key finance positions, including Financial Accountant for Neill Tools at the start of her career with the Group (1990-2000), prior to moving in to the role of Group Finance Manager (2000-2004) and latterly Group Financial Controller (2004-2015) before her promotion to Finance Director in 2015. From February 2007 until 30 May 2014, she was also the Chief Accounting and Taxation Officer of United Pacific Industries Limited, a Hong Kong Listed Group, which was the parent of the Spear & Jackson Group up to that date.

Ms Shone holds a BA in History from the University of Sheffield, England.

Chuck Whipps

ETNA – General Manager

Mr Whipps was appointed Vice President and General Manager of Eclipse Tools North America Inc. (“ETNA”) in July 2009. He has responsibility for the sales & distribution of Eclipse Magnetics products within North & South America, of Neill Tools and Moore & Wright products within North America and for the Metrology business (Bowers, Baty, Trimos & Sylvac) within Canada.

Ending with the commencement of ETNA in 2009 and formed in 2001, Mr Whipps owned a multi-line Sales Agency, WW Sales Inc., of which the Spear & Jackson group companies were key components. From 1994 to 2001, Mr Whipps was employed as Executive Vice President for a Canadian importation company, Strongridge Limited with sales throughout Canada and USA. From 1979 to 1993, Mr Whipps worked as a Chartered Accountant with Price Waterhouse, specialising in Business Valuations.

Steve Daniel

Spear & Jackson AUS/NZ – General Manager

Mr Daniel commenced with Spear & Jackson in 2003 in the role of National Account Manager.
He has an extensive history in Wholesale Management over a period of 25 years. Sporting Goods/Leisure Products and the DIY/Tools Industry in a number of senior management roles including National Account Manager, Marketing Manager, Product Development roles and National Sales Management through to General Manager positions nationally.

Coupled with an extensive Retail Management background through Street level and Departmental major retailers in the Australian market for over 10 years.

David Liang

Eclipse Jiangmen – General Manager

Mr Liang joined Eclipse Tools Manufacturing in July 2012 as General Manager and is responsible for the P&L of the business.

Mr Liang began his career as a Mechanical Engineer in the machinery sector; developing experience in roles from Manufacturing Engineer, Business Development Manager, Operations Manager to General Manager.

Jiang Lu

Bowers Eclipse Equipment Shanghai – General Manager

Ms Jiang Lu joined Bowers Shanghai as General Manager in June 2007. She has overall responsibility for the business of Bowers Eclipse Shanghai including supply chain, finance, manufacturing, HR and administration.

Previously she had more than 10 years’ experience in the Telecoms industry in the positions of Quality Manager, Plant Manager and Manufacturing Director, with roles involving factory operation management, production planning, manufacturing, industralisation, purchasing and material control, quality control and NPI project transferring.

Ms Jiang Lu’s first career was as an optical fiber engineer from 1989 to 1995 in a laboratory, going on to do a scholarship in 1996 in Grenoble, France.

John Broughton

Spear & Jackson – Head of Group IT

Mr Broughton joined the Spear & Jackson Group in July 2012 as Head of Group IT having previously held a number of senior management roles in a range of manufacturing & distribution businesses within the SME, business to business environments.

He has many years’ experience of implementing systems and change management across the business spectrum.
